These Healthy Thai Spiced Salmon Cakes combine fresh basil, curry paste and traditional Thai flavors with healthy salmon to create a fun, flavorful meal packed with nutrition. Healthy Thai Spiced Salmon Cakes
Ingredients
- 12 oz uncooked salmon
- ¼ cup panko bread crumbs
- ¼ cup green pepper chopped
- 2 green onions chopped
- 2 tablespoons freshly torn basil
- Salt
- Pepper
- 1 egg
- 2 teaspoons fish sauce
- 1 teaspoon lime juice
- 2 tablespoons Thai red curry paste
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
Instructions
- STEP 1Add uncooked salmon to a food processor and pulse until it is finely ground. If you do not have a food processor, chop as finely as possible
- STEP 2In a medium bowl, stir together ground salmon, panko, green pepper, green onions and basil. Season with salt and pepper
- STEP 3Stir egg, fish sauce, lime juice, red curry paste and ginger into salmon mixture until well combined
- STEP 4Form salmon mixture into 8 even patties
- STEP 5In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Cook salmon patties in oil, in batches as needed, until fish is cooked through and the outsides of the patties are crisp, about 2-3 minutes per side
NOT-SO-PRO TIPS
There’s really no wrong way to eat these Healthy Thai Spiced Salmon Cakes! I like mine over a salad of red cabbage and cucumber and or drizzles with additional fish or hoisin sauce. I always keep frozen salmon on hand so that I can pick and choose how much to defrost without worrying about safety.
Leftover Healthy Thai Spiced Salmon Cakes cold but you can also reheat for 2-3 minutes on the stovetop, in the oven or toaster oven at 350 for 10 or so minutes or in the air fryer at 390 for about 3 minutes.
