Before I get to the food (^^^this delicious, Light and Easy Beef Stir Fry), here’s your regular dose of dating misadventure:
There is a truly amazing array of types, interests and desires you can find on dating apps these days.
Want to share long, romantic conversations about Lord of the Rings theories? He’s probably out there!
Looking for someone who shares your obsessive interest in 18th century infrastructure? Sure, there’s a girl on the apps for you!
Hoping to find someone to throw sharp objects at you? Well…maybe!
Let me explain.
A few months back, a guy I’d matched with on Hinge opened up the conversation by asking if I like darts.
As a girl who is most comfortable at a dive bar with an IPA in hand, I was psyched that things seemed to be getting off on the right foot.
I therefore replied, enthusiastically and probably overly competitively, in the affirmative.
My new friend then sent his own reply. I’m sure it will be a response as obviously expected by you as it was at the time to me:
“Great, would you be willing to throw them at me?”
Well, that took a turn.
I have to admit, I don’t remember exactly how the rest of the conversation played out.
Let’s just agree that it ended quickly.
As a result of that fact, I never fully learned what his ultimate goal was.
Did he like the adrenaline and excitement of risky near misses?
Was he looking for the actual dart to skin connection as some sort of pain stimulus?
Maybe he just had a unique, high stakes plan to test my accuracy before joining a duos league?
Now, to be clear, I am well aware everyone has their stuff and preferences. I am most definitely not here to yuck anyone else’s yums as long as they don’t harm anyone else.
I mean, you do you my friend!
With my personally terrible darts aim, however, with me, this particular interest just sounded dangerous…
This Light and Easy Beef Stir Fry, meanwhile, is, frankly, equally dangerous.

But, don’t worry, it’s in a much more positive way!
More specifically, there is a real danger that I will eat the whole pan in one sitting!
Then again, with lean meat and plenty of vegetables, maybe that wouldn’t be such a terrible thing!

This Light and Easy Beef Stir Fry is full of protein, nutrients and flavor making it a healthy, satisfying, one pot meal you’re not going to want to miss!
Seriously, who doesn’t want an excuse to eat steak for lunch on a weekday afternoon?
Plus, it’s freezer friendly and made all in one pan on the stove top…fewer dishes and less time spent is always a win in my book!
It’s true, there are countless forms of danger both in dating and also in the kitchen.

For the moment, though, personally, overeating will continue to be my biggest risk!

Not-So-Pro Tips
I find this to be a satisfying meal all on it’s own but feel free to eat it with rice, noodles or whatever other side fits your needs!
Hoisin and oyster sauces should be easy to find in the “Asian” section of most supermarkets. If you can’t find them, though, you can add extra brown sugar, honey or even peanut butter as a replacement for the hoisin’s sweetness
I actually like this meal even better a few days after I make it and cold! I usually will cook a big batch on the weekend and eat throughout the week but you can also freeze leftovers
Feel free to switch out the veggies based on your preferences! Snap peas and cauliflower would also be great!
