Sweet and Spicy Sweet Potatoes
Ingredients
- 1 small sweet potato about 4-5 oz, washed
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- Salt
- Pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon each garlic powder onion powder and chili powder
- 1/4 teaspoon each paprika and cumin
- Dash cayenne pepper optional
Instructions
- STEP 1Preheat air fryer to 390 degrees
- STEP 2Cube sweet potato into roughly even, small pieces. Toss in olive oil
- STEP 3Add salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, paprika, cumin and cayenne, if using. Stir well to coat
- STEP 4Spray air fryer basket with cooking spray and add sweet potatoes in a single layer. Air fry for 4 minutes, pause to shake, then continue frying for 2 minutes or until potatoes reach desired crispiness

If you don’t have an air fryer, you can absolutely bake these! Preheat your oven to 400 degrees and then follow the recipe up until the air frying. Bake on a greased baking sheet for about 30 minutes, tossing once in the middle. Your potatoes should be crisp and lightly browned.
Potatoes weigh more than you thinK! If you’re following the single serve directions, you’re going to want a particularly small sweet potato, likely one that can fit almost entirely in your hand. If your family has a milder palette, halve the chili powder and cumin and omit the cayenne pepper, then adjust to taste.
